More and more of us are slow cooking these days – not just to save money, although slow cooking is cheaper than switching your main oven on – but also for the deliciously tender, deep-flavoured results. And you really can’t beat the simplicity of just throwing in your ingredients and leaving them to cook while you get on with other things. But what makes this Sear & Stew Slow Cooker even better is that the non-stick cooking pot can be used on your hob (not induction though, sorry) to sear and brown your meat first. No need to get the frying pan out and add to the washing up.

Three heat settings

So you can plan for your food to be ready when you are, there are three heat settings to choose from – Low, Medium and High. There’s also a shut-off feature for safety.

3.5 litre cooking pot

As we’ve already mentioned the 3.5 litre (2.5 litre working capacity), non-stick aluminium cooking pot can be used on your hob to brown your meat before slow cooking. But you can also take it to the table for serving up – don’t forget your trivet – and even better, when you’ve finished, the pot can go in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Oval-shaped so it’s ideal for slow-cooking joints of meat, as well as the usual stews, curries and casseroles, you can even cook bread and cakes in your slow cooker.

Glass lid

So you don’t have to take the lid off to check how your food is coming along, and release all that lovely heat and steam that’s built up, this slow cooker has a glass lid.
