When kept in the fridge, it provides bananas with the exact amount of insulation and air flow needed to stop the flesh from over-ripening and blackening, meaning fruit will stay just as it should for around a fortnight – twice its normal lifespan. And if your beloved bag gets a little grubby over time, just wipe it clean.
How does it work?
Because bananas are a fussy lot – over-ripening in minimal warmth but spoiling at very low temperatures – this clever 100% polyester insulated bag keeps them just cool enough in the fridge to keep the flesh firm and prevent over-ripening, but warm enough to stop the flesh chilling and spoiling.

I had one of these from Lakeland years ago and it’s brilliant. The bananas stay so fresh so so long. I’ve kept them for 3 weeks in the bag in the fridge and the bananas are still firm and white inside. Magic
I absolutely love this banana bag. I love bananas but only when they're only just yellow and still really firm. I hate how quickly they always go soft and brown. That is until I bought the banana bag. I was sceptical when I ordered it but so pleased I did. It's brilliant!! The skins don't even begin to change colour for a few days but, even if they turn really brown, the bananas stay firm. No more wastage!! Win, win. They taste delicious straight from the fridge too.
I have been using the Lakeland banana bags for many years now but this is a great improvement on your previous model. There is no condensation build up with this bag and as usual the bananas stay edible for a good week to 10 days if bought at the slightly green stage.
so pleased I tried this Bag it really does work, kept my bunch of bananas for 3 weeks perfect I even left the last one a further few days before using, yes the skin had started to go brown but the banana was fine thank you
I already have a banana bag, I have bought another as a present for my neighbours. Only given 3 stars as I wish it could be washed not just wiped and I wish the lining would stay in place. I have put stitches to hold it, surely the manufacturer could do that. But it does the job of keeping the bananas fresh. The new type bag is brilliant, thank you Lakeland!!
