Ken Hom 31cm Non-Stick Wok

Product number: 26934

If you love cooking Chinese food from scratch, you won’t get far without a good quality, non-stick wok to help you rustle it up to perfection. With its three layers of non-stick coating and flat base for better balance, this Ken Hom 31cm Wok will have you cooking up authentic Asian cuisine for the whole family to enjoy.

Incredibly non-stick

There’s nothing worse than food getting stuck to the inside of the pan while you’re trying to make a delicious stir fry – aside from anything else, it’s a pain to scrape off afterwards, which isn’t great for the pan. With three coats of reinforced non-stick, you won’t need to add any extra oil to stop food sticking to the surface of this wok, making it really easy to cook with and easy to clean afterwards.

Heats up quickly

Made from carbon steel, it heats up quickly to reach the kind of high temperatures needed for high-speed wok cooking, and it keeps a consistent temperature throughout the cooking process to avoid burning or undercooking your food.

Flat base for balance

It has a flat base to keep it balanced while you cook, so you won’t need to have one hand fixed to the handle to avoid it falling over, and it can be used on all kinds of hobs, from gas and electric to induction and ceramic.

Helper handle

Perfectly weighted to make sure your wok won’t tilt or topple, it’s tightly secured to the main body to avoid it becoming loose or wobbly, and the additional helping handle on the opposite side makes the wok easy to lift away from the hob. And when it’s time to put it away, there’s a little hanging loop on the end of the handle for easy storage.

"Not fit for purpose"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

It is a relief to see others have had the same experience as me with this item… Used it twice before all the non stick coating flaked off! ! Perhaps their new steel version of this might be better, willing to give another chance as a sturdy item but will never ever, EVER buy non stick from this company again (or any for that matter!) Anyway my advice is don’t buy this (obviously!)

support_agent A note from the team

We recommend that you don’t heat without anything in it, bring to temperature slowly, and don’t use the boost button on your induction. As all these things aren’t good for non-stick and carbon steel heats so quickly it’s really not necessary. However We’re very sorry to hear this and will be in touch shortly to sort it for you.

"Not fit for purpose on induction hob"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Non-stick coating blackened on first use. On second use, a large patch of the coating came off completely into the stir-fry, so I had to throw away all of it away. This is supposed to be compatible with an induction hob, but clearly doesn't work well on this type of hob. Very disappointing, and as this was a present and I had no receipt, my local Lakeland would not accept it as a return, or offer a replacement or credit note, so I now have an unusable wok, and will have to buy another.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear of your experience with the wok. Carbon steel needs to be heated up slowly and you should generally have something like oil inside it without dry heating it. We'd also advise not to use the boost button if you have an induction hob.

"Disappointing"

star star star_border star_border star_border

After two uses on a standard gas hob, the exterior of the wok was pockmarked due to small, circular shapes of the coating flaking off. The size of the wok is great for smaller meals, but I returned it because the exterior coating should remain intact.

We're sorry this happened - it sounds like the wok was faulty.

"Food sticking"

Purchased this. Used first time and found the chicken stuck to the bottom Second time I found a layer of black carbon on the wok which I can’t remove. Also found it moves too easily on my induction hob. Disappointed buyer

support_agent A note from the team

We’re very sorry to hear this and will be in touch to sort it for you. Carbon steel doesn’t like being whacked up to such high temperatures so quickly. You’re better to heat the wok slowly to the temperature you want. The carbon must be residue left from the burnt on chicken and would need soaking off. In terms of it moving around the hob, , maybe there was some oil underneath but the pan certainly shouldn’t move by itself under normal conditions.
