Stored neatly in a sleek stainless steel pod, the four boards are colour-coded in complementary shades of sky-inspired blue and grey to make finding the right board for the job easier.

Colour-Coded To Reduce Cross-Contamination

One of Joseph Joseph’s most iconic designs, Index chopping boards help cooks avoid cross-contamination by making it easy to always use the same board for the same job. Simple but effective, the colour-coding system and index-style tabs help you select the board you need at a glance, and every board has a different, specialised cutting feature:

• Navy, with a chop icon – for raw meat. One side has a deep groove round the edge to catch meat juices while you’re cutting and dicing, while the reverse is completely flat.
• White, with a carrot icon – for fruit and vegetables. Flat on one side, with a sloping rim around the other to stop your fruit and veg from rolling away before you can prep it, and to keep juice from items like tomatoes from running off the board.
• Sky blue, with a fish icon – especially created for fish, this board has a strip of tiny spikes across the length of one side that grip and hold onto fish or seafood so it won’t slide about while you’re preparing it. The reverse side is smooth with raised edges to catch juices.
• Light blue, with a steaming bowl icon – designed for cooked foods, bread and cheese, this chopping board is flat on one side and has lengthways grooves on the other that are ideal for catching crumbs.

The perfect prep station for small-space kitchens, galley kitchens and busy cooks who like everything close at hand, all four boards are designed to be used on both sides, with seriously grippy triangular feet at every corner so they won’t slide about whichever way up you use them.

Knife-Friendly Surfaces

The boards are also specially designed to be kind to your knives, so while their surfaces will mark and show scratches over time, your knife blades will suffer less damage and maintain a sharper edge for longer. Made from durable, BPA-free polypropylene, they’re also dishwasher safe for super-easy clean-up.
