Dreamfarm Spina Colander and Salad Spinner
Product number: 26623
Handy, fun and incredibly clever, Dreamfarm’s Spina might look at first glance like a normal colander… but a simple twist of the handle and frame transform it into a salad spinner too.
Strains and spins
To use it as a colander, either sit it in your sink or hold by the handle to drain pasta or veg, or rinse fresh fruit and salad leaves. The clever bit comes when it’s time to dry your salad… you simply twist the handle to unlock it, then spin the frame and handle to sit vertically, with the handy little non-slip ‘foot’ at the bottom. To set it spinning, pump the handle up and down a few times and off it goes, spinning impressively quickly to shake off any excess water and thoroughly dry your food. To stop, press and hold down the handle.
Easy to use and store
The deserved winner of a Best in Class Good Design Award, the Spina is full of clever features that make it easy to use and store. The twist-lock design of the handle ensures it stays in place when you need it to, and you can even push the handle to sit inside the basket when you’re not using it, making it easy to store as it can nest neatly with your mixing bowls. The strainer has raised sides to stop salad leaves or berries from doing a runner when spinning, while the non-slip foot keeps the Spina firmly in place as it spins.
Heat-resistant up to 80°C.

Lovely piece of kit. Very happy with it.
The drying effectiveness of the Spina is equal to that of my other spinner. It doesn’t totally replace my other spinner with its accompanying bowl and lid, but is a very useful addition. It’s great that it can be used as a normal colander too, and nests inside other bowls to store in my cupboard. Also, it’s dishwasher safe. As I have a kitchen sink made from a textured material, it’s easier to spin inside a large smooth bowl due to better foot suction. The instructional video on the Dreamfarm website is helpful (as is their customer service with queries). I am pleased I bought it.
I’m pleased with this product. I have a small kitchen and value the combined colander and spinner functions and the fold-in handle which all help with saving space in the dishwasher and when storing. It does what it claims to do and has made washing and drying berries very easy. Only downsides are the cost (bit expensive for what it is) and initially I found it tricky to lock the handle back into the colander position but I got the hang of it (push on the end of the handle nearest to the colander to lock it back into position while twisting the far end of the handle with your other hand).

Got this as recommended on another website as good for storage. It does take up less space than conventional salad spinners but it’s tricky to use. The rubber foot doesn’t stick very well inside the sink - as soon as you start loading up the salad it falls over. The mechanism itself is easy enough but salad was still quite wet after about 2 mins of spinning plus it occasionally flung pieces of salad over the edge. Taking back for full refund and going to get the more traditional spinner instead
We’re very sorry to hear it wasn't suitable and will be in touch shortly to sort it for you. The way to use it is to fill the basket with salad while in colander form and rinse it. Then you twist it to spin. You don’t balance it on its non-slip foot with salad in. The foot also isn’t a suction pad that sticks, it’s a non-slip foot.
Used for first time to spin freshly washed salad leaves and despite me spinning fast for quite a few minutes the leaves were still water logged. I bought to replace a much cheaper one that was taking up to much space but that works so much better than this. Not worth the price.
We’re very sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations but can see you've already been in touch and we've sorted a refund for you
