"magnetic wind-up timer" star star star star star I am so glad to find this is still available - my local store did not have it in stock. Ours recently wore out and nothing else will do. Simple, effective - and the brilliant thing is being able to carry it away from the kitchen. I've not found anything else that enables this! this
"timer" star star star star star found it a little complicated getting this order and account for 1st time. Have had this product before as a gift and it is excellent
"Great for grown ups, but not child friendly as falls apart!" star star star star star_border Hi, I had one of these for some time, the magnectic back was great as I had a magnectic board by the door. It then moved into the farmhouse with me and survived for a bit longer before it fell apart and the magnet fell off. (Helped by children). It is most important to remember to turn all the way and then back again as another reviewer stated. However I found it was not sensitive enough for small time periods ie a few minutes. I found it was a good guide for instance for 20 minutes to remind me to check things in the oven. Not the most accurate of timers. Tried to replace - failed! support_agent A note from the team Thanks for your feedback on the magnetic clockwork timer. We'll be in touch about a replacement.
"Works fine for us!" star star star star star_border This timer ticks along accurately but the duration of the ring can vary, it is loud enough for us to hear when we are in the kitchen. If we are moving around the house or are in the next room watching TV it is small enough that we take it with us so we are sure to hear it. When we wind it round fully before setting the time we require then we seem to get the maximum 5 second ring.
"It's all in how you wind it up..." star star star star star_border I have one of these, can't remember if I got it from you or not, but the key thing is the way you wind it up. You need to wind the timer part all the way round to 59 minutes and then turn it back to the time you want it to be on. So if you want 20 minutes, then forward wind to 59/0 and then back to 20. I don't know if it says that on the instructions, but it works on the same principle as many other clockwork timers. It works fine if you do this.
