"Fabulous"
I rarely review products but this is absolutely amazing. We use it with lakeland 7" non stick baking parchment circles and get very consistent flat breads with very little effort. An absolute gem - thanks Prue & Lakeland!

Prue’s World Cast Iron Tortilla Press
Product number: 26518
Love Mexican food? Adore a filled tortilla? Ever made your own? If the answers are yes, yes, and no – then now’s a good time to start making your own tortillas with the help of our Prue’s World Cast Iron Tortilla Press. It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s fun – and home-made ones taste so much better and fresher than shop-bought.
Meet the press
Comprising two cast iron plates and a cast iron handle, this sturdy press is so easy to use. Once you’ve made your corn or flour tortilla dough (there’s a recipe for flour tortillas included), divide it into smaller balls – then place a dough ball in the middle of the base plate, bring the hinged top plate over to cover the ball, then use the handle to push the heavy plates together and flatten the dough into a perfectly round, thin tortilla ready for turning into tacos, burritos, tostadas, enchiladas, fajitas… you could even cut your tortillas into triangles and make your own tortilla chips.
It’s also perfect for making rotis, chapatis and mini pizza bases when Mexican’s not on the menu.
Handle is detachable for easier storage.
Heat-resistant to 250°C.
Hand wash only.
About our Prue’s World range
We tell anyone who’ll listen – we love to cook and can think of nothing better than finding creative, authentic kitchen tools that make cooking a joyful experience. So when Prue Leith approached us to collaborate on an exciting new range inspired by her trips around the world, we thought all of our birthdays had come at once!
Prue has been everywhere. She’s had an amazing life of cookery and adventure, and her culinary voyages have been a huge influence in this range’s creation. As well as being a passionate chef, founder of Leiths School of Food and Wine, TV personality, restaurateur and writer, she’s a globetrotter with a love of foods from afar, and the cookware in her own kitchen has been cherry-picked from her trips around the world.
A self-confessed Lakeland fan, Prue invited us into her home and we were like children in a sweet shop, exploring her vast, eclectic cookware kit for inspiration. Her wonderful stories behind each piece, as well as Prue’s exacting guidance, has resulted in a range that’s as interesting and colourful as Prue herself.
Prue says “I want everyone to experience the pleasure and satisfaction of producing food to share with others.” Prue tested every item herself to ensure everything worked as it should, and if something wasn’t quite right, she helped us make it perfect.
Made from attractive crushed bamboo zebra wood, ceramics and durable metals, everything in Prue’s global cookware collection is practical enough for everyday use, and will work brilliantly for all of your own culinary adventures. Accented with a pop of vibrant red, they make fabulous gifts for creative cooks, too.

I have been making my own tortillas for ages as the shop bought ones are full of gunk. I thought this item might speed up the dreary task of rolling them by hand. Unfortunately this gadget delivers small, thick tortillas that are probably an authentic size but end up even smaller on the griddle/frying pan. Brute force delivers a thinner animal but the edges end up with holes & tears as the dough spills over the side of the platter & gets stuck in the hinge (yes, I used non stick paper ). I would suggest that the plates need to be of a wider diameter.
This is perfect, makes wonderful tortillas. As a coeliac who loves tortillas, chapatis etc (but not the price of free from versions in the supermarkets) I was extremely happy to find this. I mostly use masa harina to make corn tortillas and they have been perfect each time. GF plain flour tortillas have come out really well too. Teenager even uses it sometimes to make tortillas for lunch, it's that quick and easy once you get the hang of it. It's paid for itself in less than a month! (free from tortillas really are expensive lol). Couldn't be happier, thx
Bought this early in lockdown when I had some more time in the kitchen. It makes tortillas and chapatis quick and easy to do and no fiddly rolling. You do need grease proof paper to stop it sticking and you have to accept that they are smallish in size but it also means it isn’t too big to store. I am utterly delighted with the purchase. My only recommendation? Buy a tortilla warmer to go with this - it’s a life changer! Keeps the tortillas or chapatis hot while you get everything else ready.
Excellent product . Just used it to press chapatis and works very well . No more mess of rolling out just press and cook .
