Our Buying Team have searched long and hard to find a really helpful cookbook that offers gluten-free recipes, hints and tips, and they’ve chosen River Cottage Gluten Free for its clear advice as well as its ingenious and delicious recipes.
Gluten is found in an extraordinary number of foods, yet it can be problematic for so many people – it’s estimated that more than 6 million people in the UK have coeliac disease – and many more find they feel better for cutting gluten out of their diet. Whether you’re a coeliac yourself, or you’re cooking for friends and family with gluten intolerance, River Cottage Gluten Free will provide the tools you need to gain inspiration and navigate mealtimes with ease.
Written by Naomi Devlin, who teaches about the endless possibilities of gluten-free whole grains and sourdough cultures at River Cottage HQ, River Cottage Gluten Free holds more than 120 recipes for those who want to cut out gluten without compromising on taste – perfect for anyone with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease.
Full of clear advice for gluten-free eating, including detailed guidance on alternative flours, methods of fermentation and delicious baking ideas, it contains recipes for breakfasts, bread, pastry, soups, salads, snacks, main meals and puddings, including Prosciutto and Egg Muffins, Blinis with Crème Fraîche and Smoked Salmon, Leek and Bacon Quiche, Courgette Hummus, Blackberry Bakewell Tart, Luscious Lemon Cake and Chocolate Fondants.
With an introduction by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, and helpful tips from Naomi throughout, this definitive gluten-free cookbook will add fresh vitality to your cooking and eating, and a host of recipes to make you feel great.
About the author
Once dubbed ‘the Nigella of gluten-free’, nutrition expert Naomi Devlin is an unashamed foodie with a coeliac diagnosis. Having studied native diets around the world, she now believes that the key to health and happiness is to cook from scratch wherever possible. In her view, food doesn’t have to be fancy, but it should be tasty and satisfying.
She teaches people at the River Cottage HQ, at Ashburton Cookery School, and at bespoke cookery days in her own steamy kitchen. Naomi lives in West Dorset with her husband, son and ginger cat in a sustainable house they built themselves.
