Prue's World Paella Pan

Product number: 26443

Transport yourself to the sun-soaked streets of Spain by cooking up an authentic paella in Prue’s World’s Paella Pan. Made from carbon steel, its large, flat base heats quickly and evenly, perfect for each step of paella cooking from frying to simmering. The professional-standard, double-layer non-stick coating ensures you get to enjoy every last bite of your culinary creation, with no stubborn morsels lingering on the bottom of the pan, while its generous capacity means you can cook up a proper feast for family and friends. And the handles are made from crushed bamboo, giving them a distinctive striped pattern that’s unique to every piece.

Not suitable for induction hobs.

Non-stick coating is free from BPA, PFOA and PTFE.

About our Prue’s World range

We tell anyone who’ll listen – we love to cook and can think of nothing better than finding creative, authentic kitchen tools that make cooking a joyful experience. So when Prue Leith approached us to collaborate on an exciting new range inspired by her trips around the world, we thought all of our birthdays had come at once!

Prue has been everywhere. She’s had an amazing life of cookery and adventure, and her culinary voyages have been a huge influence in this range’s creation. As well as being a passionate chef, founder of Leiths School of Food and Wine, TV personality, restaurateur and writer, she’s a globetrotter with a love of foods from afar, and the cookware in her own kitchen has been cherry-picked from her trips around the world.

A self-confessed Lakeland fan, Prue invited us into her home and we were like children in a sweet shop, exploring her vast, eclectic cookware kit for inspiration. Her wonderful stories behind each piece, as well as Prue’s exacting guidance, has resulted in a range that’s as interesting and colourful as Prue's travels.

Prue says “I want everyone to experience the pleasure and satisfaction of producing food to share with others.” Prue tested every item herself to ensure everything worked as it should, and if something wasn’t quite right, she helped us make it perfect.

Made from attractive crushed bamboo zebra wood, ceramics and durable metals, everything in Prue’s global cookware collection is practical enough for everyday use, and will work brilliantly for all of your own culinary adventures. Fabulous as gifts for any creative cook, many of the pieces are accented with a geometric motif and a flash of red that’s as vibrant as Prue herself.

"Not fit for purpose"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

After two uses, the pan is wrecked and unusable. It is labelled as suitable for induction hobs and I used the largest hot plate available on my Bosch hob. I also carefully followed the care instructions. After two uses the "non-stick" coating has worn off in places - unfortunately I cannot upload a photo to show what a shocking state the pan is now in. This was given to me as a present so it is particularly upsetting that it is not fit for purpose. Please do read the other reviews, all of which are very negative at the time of writing, and do not buy this.

"Not non-stick for long"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Used 3 times. Food burns in the middle of the pan and unable to clean. Attempt to clean properly resulted in the non-stick coating starting to rub off.

We’re very sorry to hear this and will be in touch shortly to sort this for you. These pans are best to use on a medium heat otherwise it'll burn at the centre. The pan shouldn’t be left to soak or use scrubbers on.

"Poorly designed pan"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

We have this pan twice now for vegetable paella, with our tried and trusted recipe. The pan does not conduct heat properly so both times we have ended up with severely burnt rice in the centre and raw rice/puddles of liquid around the edges. It is impossible to cook a decent paella with this, I got much better result just using a regular saute pan previously. Very much regretting this purchase.

"Not efficient"

star star star_border star_border star_border

This is my second pan after a faulty one was replaced. (Excellent customer service as usual from Lakeland) I have to say like a previous reviewer I cannot get this to cook evenly. I've tried several times but I end up with undercooked rice at the edges and have to transfer the paella to my ordinary frying pan to finish cooking. The pan doesn't seem to conduct the heat evenly.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry this paella pan wasn't for you and we've sent you an email. It does depend on what hob you're cooking on and how well the pan fits on your hob rings.

"Beautiful to look at but frustrating to use !"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Ultimately, I could not use my new pan as planned because the product card was glued to its surface on either side, with a line of the horrid sticky stuff across the diameter for good measure. Two great blobs, impossible to remove and yet the card states no scourers or abrasives ! I resorted to gently rubbing with a brillo but this only dispersed it further. Luckily, I had some sticky stuff remover but even that took two attempts ( a ruse to boost sales perhaps ?!) Also, the pan is very shallow; "suitable for large gatherings" ? Unconvinced. It promises a recipe card; I did not find one.

We're sorry this wasn't as expected. We've passed the information on to the supplier about the glue. We can confirm it's over 14 inches in diameter and nearly 2 inches high. The recipe comes in a recipe card attached to the packaging, but is also available in our 'Recipes' - you can click on this at the bottom of the page - this recipe serves 4.
