Potato ricers can be bulky and a bit unwieldy to manoeuvre, but we found this Fresh Force Potato Ricer from Chef’n a joy to use, with its dual-gear mechanism increasing pressing power for maximum mash with minimum effort.
Just pop your boiled spuds into the basket and squeeze the handles for silky smooth mash ready for pairing with bangers, topping shepherd’s pie, making colcannon, filling fishcakes and potato croquettes, and so much more – you could even use it for mashing veg or baby food.
Dual-gear mechanism for ease of use
Chef’n claim that the dual-gear mechanism makes this ricer 65% more efficient than conventional ones. And we can happily report that the easy-squeeze non-slip handles made mashing easy.
When you’re done mashing, the removable perforated stainless steel basket and the ricer can go in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.

I pondered for some time over this purchase as it is relatively expensive. Delighted that it bought it. Incredibly easy to use and very easy to clean. Even diced potatoes in their skins with ease. It looks and feels very sturdy. I hope it will last a long time - delighted.
Having had this some time the whole thing flexes and doesn't close fully so 5 -10 mm of compressed potato stuck on plunger every time.
It could be as case that it's overloaded - you could try smaller amounts of potato at at time. It is normal for a small amount of potato to be left tin the ricer, but we're sorry that it wasn't as expected.
