Ideal for making healthier, tastier gravies, soups and sauces, this cleverly designed jug makes it easier to separate out the best cooking juices from the fat. Simply pop in the stopper in the spout, then pour your hot pan juices into the heat-resistant jug through the removable strainer lid – the strainer catches unwanted bits, so if you’ve added a bay leaf, stalks of rosemary or cloves of garlic to add extra flavour, you won’t have to fiddle around with fishing them out, while the stopper makes sure no fat gets poured into the jug through the spout.
Wait for the rich, fat-free juices to settle to the bottom while the fat rises to the top… then remove the stopper from the spout and pour the good juices into your pan, ready to finish off your delicious gravy. With a large, 1 litre capacity, and markings on the side, this smart jug has an easy-grip handle and is dishwasher safe, making it easy to clean up when you’re finished. The removable strainer lid even has a convenient little holder to keep the stopper safe when it’s not in use.

This is one of my can't-do'without kitchen gadgets! Very simply and effectively allows you to pour the meat juices out from underneath the fat, without having to wait for the fat to cool. Cleans up fine in a dishwasher. Superior function in my opinion to the newer more expensive design of OXO separator.
Purchased this jug to deal with the problem of fat in the Christmas gravy, and I have to say this dealt with it admirably. I’ve since gone on to use this in making stocks, soups and even jelly, where an element of sieving out surplus ingredients is involved. The concept of pouring out liquid whilst leaving the fat works well, although I would say that in order to ensure no fat gets through you do sometimes have a leave a little liquid behind. All in all a satisfactory and good value purchase.
