Salter Loud Electronic Timer with Three Volume Settings 355 BKXCDU

Product number: 26362

We’ve all done it – wandered out of the kitchen and not heard the timer go off, only to return to the cooker ten minutes after time was up and find that your rice has boiled dry or your sponge cake is beyond edible and firmly baked onto the tin… With an extra-loud beep (hurrah!) to alert you that time’s up, Salter’s Loud Electronic Timer will help prevent any more over-cooked dinner disasters.]

Loud beep with three volume settings

Once dinner’s in the oven it’s all too easy to get distracted by other things; you nip upstairs to put something away, find yourself absorbed in a TV programme, or the washing machine’s so loud you can’t hear anything else over it. So the solution-finding folk at Salter made their loud timer with not just one, but three volume settings, including one that’s really loud, so can be sure you’ll hear the beeps even if you’re in another room when they sound.

Extra-long countdown time

As well as counting down, this helpful kitchen timer also has a count up stopwatch option – right up to an incredible 19 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds for either way; after all, it’s often the slow-cooked in-the-oven-for-hours meals that are easiest to lose track of.][{Easy-read digital display}][In addition to having a big stop/start button, the large digital screen is really clear and easy to read, and setting the times and volume is straightforward too.

Magnetic or freestanding

With integrated magnets at the back, you can choose to pop the timer on the fridge so it’s right at eye-level, or it can be used self-standing on a flat surface, whatever’s most convenient for you.

"Not keen"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Frankly, we don’t like this timer. The 3-setting volume control is a bit redundant as the noise it makes is so shrill and unpleasant anyway. The real problem is how difficult it can be to clear the current setting. Often takes quite a few attempts. In a nutshell, it’s an irritating device.

We’re sorry you didn’t like the timer.

After the first day of use (at highest volume setting) the tone began to fluctuate so I replaced the batteries that are provided with brand new ones but the problem still persisted and by the third day there was no sound at all at any of the three volume option-settings. Returned it to the store and received a full refund as I didn't want a replacement as I was wary of the product's reliability. Perhaps I just picked up a faulty one?

"High pitched sound"

star star star star_border star_border

I read the reviews before buying this timer. I was fairly sure that I would be able to hear it. I can, but only on the loudest setting. The sound is high, and I know that is high notes I have difficulty hearing. My daughter and my dog confirm it is very loud.

"Love this timer"

I love this timer and would happily buy another if they were produced in different colours. I often set multiple timers but fear if I buy an identical timer I could get them mixed up and end up with burnt offerings or undercooked food. Does anyone know of a similar timer that is just as loud as this one?

"good quality timer"

star star star star star

I bought this timer due to having others previously whereby the display has gone from the front, so I decided to pay more for this one which is very sturdy, the volume is loud even on the low setting so if I am in another room I hear it, it is brilliant for my hearing loss. The only criticism is that the hour button is rather close to the edge and I find that I catch it on putting it down on some occasions so have to reset. Up to now it is proving to be an excellent timer and just what I needed.
