Joseph Joseph Surface Stainless Steel Cutlery Drainer

Product number: 25656

The smart Joseph Joseph Surface cutlery drainer holds onto cutlery while it drips dry – four sections help you keep knives, forks and spoons separated and, helpfully, one of them has a higher base so that small things like teaspoons, cake forks and sugar tongs are easier to spot and don’t get lost when it’s time to put everything away.

The base has a spout to let you drain off the collected water and the whole thing dismantles for easy cleaning.

About Joseph Joseph’s Surface™ range

"Great design"

Like the way you can stand it on the worktop as it has its own draining tray. Stainless steel looks very smart.

"very smart, very effective."

I never expected to find anything so good. This cutlery drainer is very pleasing looking and drains easily. I have only one thing to point out which is that teaspoons and any smaller items have to go in a particular section as otherwise they slip down. Yoy soon learn!

"Disappointing"

star star star star_border star_border

The plastic inset on the top of this product lets it down badly. There are 4 sections. At one end there is a shallow self-contained section for teaspoons and other short items, which works as intended. The remaining 3 sections are full depth but the grey plastic dividers between these sections is only 33mm deep leaving a large void below. This means that longer pieces of cutlery, such as knives, etc, tend to lie over at an angle thus minimising capacity. Had these dividers been slightly deeper this product would have been perfect.

Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear of your disappointment with the how the sections are designed. We'll pass your feedback along to the buying team to consider.

"Suffers a design fault"

star star star star_border star_border

It looks very nice, has a good capacity and could be excellent but for a major design flaw. One wonders why the manufacturer did not test this product? As mentioned by "Fred" the insert has dividers which fail to reach down far enough to stop cutlery slipping under and ending up lying along the bottom of the drainer and hard to retrieve. I have sorted this by gluing two strips of plastic to equal the depth of the small item drainer which has proved successful without any obvious drawbacks. So for the sake of just a little more plastic they could have had an excellent piece of equipment.

"Breathtakingly poor design"

The only part that works is the small teaspoon section that has a base with holes that you so obviously need for drainage. The rest of the cutlery stands unhygeinically in its own run-off. Bizarre.
