Fan of smarter home technology? Then you’ll love this Bluetooth-enabled SmartPLUG from AwoX, which lets you control, monitor and programme appliances from your smartphone or tablet.

How Does It Work?

To get started, you’ll need to download the free AwoX SmartCONTROL app. Once that’s done, simply plug your SmartPLUG into a power socket then plug your appliance into it. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone and launch the AwoX app to see and control your plug.

What Does It Do?

There are two main applications. Firstly, it lets you monitor how much energy the appliance attached to the plug uses, showing current consumption and also a history over the last 24 hours, week or 30 days, so you can see where you’re spending and decide how to save.

It also enables you to schedule on/off times for the devices connected to your plug – really handy if you’re away from home and want to turn the lights on when it gets dark, or if your socket is in an awkward place and you want your Christmas tree lights to come on at designated intervals.
