Tefal® Freemove Cordless Steam Iron FV9970

I. So not only excellent service but a price match as well I have now had chance to use the iron ( I am used to a steam generator iron as I have had several in the past and had trouble with the cords, my latest has heat and no steam) I have found this freemove to be very good. Plenty of steam, good weight to use, but not too heavy, Sits well in its housing and secure on the ironing board with its clamp, Very good overall value for money

I hated Ironing then I bought this iron. It's cool, it's functional and very easy to use, but I still hate ironing. I found the trigger design both comfortable and intuitive to use. Whilst the steam is perhaps not as powerful as that of the steam generating irons, I found it to be much more effective than my previous tefal iron. The lightweight design is perfect for normal household ironing of clothes and linen making the intricate work between buttons etc very easy. I would recommend this iron to anyone, especially those who dislike the task!

My old generator steam iron finally packed in after many years so I decided I wanted a change. I love the freedom of movement and the less bulky iron to put away. I found it easier to iron dresses and fancy silk shirts and my husband loved ironing his linen trousers with it. It does take some getting used to and I can't quite get the hang of the thermostat but I'm sure it won't take me long.

First the good points: cordless is wonderful to use and the steam function is adequate . Probably a great iron if you do a lot of straightforward, undemanding ironing, and never actually press anything. But: If you are a dressmaker you will find continually replacing the iron on the housing instead of standing it up on end when you are adjusting the fabric is really irritating. It takes twice as long as with a conventional corded iron. Also if you have a poor grip you will find the trigger steam uncomfortable. Nice shaped tip to iron, but the sole plate inferior to older ultra glides.

Great idea and have loved The cordless function however build quality very poor. I have had the iron replaced on two occasions by Lakeland as the plastic Water inlet valve has disintergrated after only a couple of months (we are a family of 2 so it's not used that often) unfortunately will be returning iron number 3 today with the same problem after only 3 months. There is clearly a manufacturing fault with the item, you would expect better from such a well known brand. The positive from this chain of events - the excellent customer service from Lakeland when having to make the returns
