Lakeland Sonic Jewellery Cleaner

I have been super impressed since I purchased this sonic cleaner! It has done a superb job on restoring shine on all my jewellery. I have cleaned my costume, silver, gold jewellery and it has emerged gleaming sparkling and extremely bright and shiny! It is very easy to use. Just add warm water up to the maximum line and two - three drops of washing up liquid and choose your desired temperature. This cleaner is amazing! No need to use any chemicals. Plus I have tried it on my watch and glasses and they came out mirror shine. No need to waste time using a cloth and chemicals!

I was surprised to see a one star review for this item, I love it. It won't remove tarnish, but does a great job on dirt. I regularly clean my rings, and chains. My two daughters frequently bring their jewellery to be cleaned as well. I put in a tiny amount of washing up liquid with warm water. If not clean enough on the 180 setting, it goes in for another zap. A waterproof watch has also had the treatment. This has an expending bracelet and it was surprising how much grime accumulates in there. I plan to buy another to give as a present.

I have never written a product review before, but I found this to be so useless, particularly on my silver jewellery, that I felt obliged to log on. Dirty jewellery comes out dirty and clean items come out clean. Just to make sure, I put some items through two of the extended cycles with absolutely no identifiable changes whatsoever. I even left one earring of a pair out of the second cycle to compare results and they both looked just the same - still tarnished. There is a cloth to remove excess tarnish, but if that is needed for most items, what is the point in this machine?

I bought this some time ago but didn't use it straight away. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago on some charms & a bracelet which I knew would be fiddly to clean by hand - useless - the only way to clean them was with the cloth provided with it!! I could have brought a cloth for a fraction of the price. Tried it again today on a simple silver chain - again useless - used the cloth but managed to break the chain having to handle it so much!!!! Total disappointment & totally agree with Mrs O'Brian - if I could give it 0 stars I would!
