Jeweller in the Dishwasher

I have used this once. It worked ok-ish. The problem is that the instructions say that for it to work efficiently it must go on the top rack of the dishwasher and must stand straight not tilted at an angle. I don't know what US dishwashers are like but my British one (Hotpoint) does not have a straight area anywhere on the top rack. Whether it would have worked better standing straight I just don't know.

My main reason for buying was to clean my diamond rings. However, the holes in the egg shaped units are quite big and I was worried about losing a valuable stone if it was dislodged during washing. They tell you to put items with small stones in the soaker, but the soaker tank does not drain and retains dishwasher muck. I had to wash my items in clean water afterwards. Expensive for a few pieces of plastic.

I bought this cleaner in my last order, because I live in a damp area and silver tarnishes easily. It is utterly useless; I have put it into the dishwasher 3 times in a row, with the same jewellery in it, necklaces and a ring and they have come out in exactly the state in which I put them in. There is not one jot of difference and I think that this is a complete con. as a product. I am giving it 1 star, only because there is no option for less and it does not represent the fitness for purpose of this product at all.

Very dissapointed with this item. Very expensive just for a piece of cheap plastic. Only deserves 0 stars.
