Only used a couple of times so far but certainly seems to make a difference. We use with a metallic board cover and the heating seems to improve the 'ironing both sides at once' quality noticeably. It only gets warm, not hot, so not sure if good without the added effect of metallic cover.
I read the lakeland review of this product and was excited! Perfect ironing with less effort. Sorry I have to disagree with your review it makes very little difference as far as I can see even to bed linen.

I had an ironing board that blew air under the cover and it was excellent for a smooth finish. I though this would have been similar but disappointed as the heat is patchy and didn't make any difference to my finish of my clothes.
