We’ve tested so many eco-friendly cleaners over the years but, though they come with the best of green credentials, sometimes they just don’t ‘cut the mustard’ when it comes to doing their job. So, when we found out that the experts at HG had turned their attention to developing their own eco-friendly range, you can imagine how excited we were! And we’re very pleased to report, we were not disappointed.

Pour 300ml of the formula into the plughole and leave for approx 6 hours to work. To keep blockages to a minimum, add 25ml to the plughole every two weeks

I used this product not because we had blocked drains but because we kept getting terribly smells from our kitchen drain. It worked really well to get rid of the nasty niffs, although we did need to use a repeat dose after a while but this is exactly what the manufacturers said might be required on the bottle.
Our kitchen drains get plugged with balls of grease and limescale. HG can't stop the limescale, but by removing the grease, it makes the limescale ball more porous and more easily removed the messy way. I'm still for it.
Did not notice any difference to the smell coming from the drain.

I bought this product for my bathroom sink, which I use for washing my hands when cooking and which therefore tends to get blocked with grease and food particles (particularly bread dough - that stuff really sticks!). I tried this product, following the rather fussy instructions (pour in 1 minute of lukewarm water, 300ml of product, then the same quantity of lukewarm water, then leave it to work), and saw no difference whatsoever - the sink was still as blocked as ever. I'll go back to using boiling water, which is cheaper, works better and is more eco-friendly than using any chemicals!
