Lakeland Laundry Carousel

I bought this because my 40 year old 'spider airer' had nearly had it. Being out at work all day, I can only line dry on really fine days and weekends. I find that clothes sometimes take a long time to dry on a conventional airer and this seemed ideal. It certainly is, it was easy to construct and holds two full loads of washing easily. Being able to put everything on hangers cuts down hugely on ironing time as well. The last bonus is that it is purple which is my favourite colour. I know they are no longer restocking this so get it while you can!

I bought this as I can no longer use the washing line due to mobility problems.I have had a Hangaway and thought that this item with an area for my sox and smalls etc, would be ideal. I regret to say that this has been very disappointing as I found it unstable and really not of the strength and the quality that I have come to expect from the Lakeland products that I have had in the past. I have tried it twice and am not happy at all, going back to using the Hangaway again. This will go to the back of the cupboard, I'm afraid. Sorry Lakeland not good enough this time.

I had been looking at the Hangaway but was put off by the colour! Then found this. I hadn't been sure I wanted the top bit with pegs and that comes off very easily, but actually it has been very useful and stops me leaving underwear draped over radiators all round the house. I am 5'3" and wouldn't want the top section any higher. The bottom section is what I bought it for and it has done exactly what I wanted. I iron things when damp, hang them on here, put it in front of the airing cupboard and open the door. Still working on getting the children to come and collect their stuff when dry.

Having been delighted with my Hangaway for a number of years, when it finally broke, I fully intended to buy another. Then I spotted the laundry carousel and was really impressed by its versatility (the hanging pegs are a great addition). I was concerned that it might not be as robust as the Hangaway, but need not have worried. I have used it a number of times now and it easily accommodates a full load of washing. I think I might be a convert!
