A wider-than-average, steam-flow mesh surface makes ironing easier and speedier, there’s also an integrated hanger for shirts and blouses as well as a handy laundry rack to take care of your freshly pressed clothes.

But what really makes this height-adjustable version stand out from the crowd is the integral plug and dual-socket 1.9m (6¼ft) extension lead, ideal if your iron only has a short flex and you want flexibility when setting up to tackle the load – just plug your iron into the on-board socket!

There’s a flex holder to keep the wire tangle-free and a heat-resistant rest that is big enough to hold a steam generator. In shiny chromed steel, this is a board we’re sure you’d love to meet. Cover is felt-padded with a draw-cord fastening.

"Unless using a cordless iron, move on"

I had high hopes for this ironing board and there is a lot to like however I wouldn't recommend it. I bought mine last year and it's good and sturdy, and a great size board. However the iron's cable constantly gets snagged between the metal iron plate holder and the ironing board itself despite the promise of "There's a flex holder to keep the wire tangle-free". Theres a gap the perfect size for the flex to get snagged in. I'd rather have a board without the holder, or if you have a cordless iron then you probably would like this. Corded ironers, beware!

"Dud product"

My experience is identical to Ms Middleton's. In addition, I found my ordinary steam iron would not stand up vertically (ie in the steaming position) on the iron-support stand, which was clearly designed for those with steam generators. I sent it back after 1 use. Lakeland's description should make it clear that this is a product for those with old technology!
