Ultrasonic Spectacle Cleaner

Having owned an ultrasonic Jewellery Cleaner for many years, I thought that the ultrasonic spectacle cleaner was just what I needed to clean my glasses which I wear non-stop from when I get up in the morning until when I go to bed at night. As I live in Italy where it is hot and humid for many months of the year, not only do the lenses get really dirty, but the frames as well, especially the bridge across the nose and the nose pieces. I am afraid to say, however, that I am disappointed in the performance of this item. Using only warm water as suggested in the instruction leaflet certainly did NOT get the lenses clean. The result was better when I added some washing up liquid but, even so, I had to give the glasses a good polish with a drying up cloth before the glass was clear. I might as well use the little cloth and spray supplied by my optician! This Spectacle Cleaner just doesn't compare with my ultrasonic Jewellery Cleaner but admittedly the latter uses special liquid for cleaning and cost five times as much!

We saw this little gadget in our local store & thought it would be great for our glasses, sunglass,my rings & necklaces. We tried it out as soon as we got home. It had no impact on my rings or necklaces - despite numerous attempts. Next we tried Hubby's glasses & he still had smears & had to use his normal cleaning cloth. As a last try we thought we would try my sunglasses. They wouldn't fit in because they were too deep so I held them. Again after 3 minutes they still had greasy smears on them. I wish I had read the previous review before buying....I would have kept my money in my purse.
