Lakeland Handy Steamer

I recently purchased the Lakeland Handy Steamer. I find it quite heavy to use and getting the water tank on an off seems to be difficult. It also drips large amounts of water, so I have to make sure I have an old towel handy to mop up. I found it good for giving the curtains a freshen up though. Not sure that I would recommend anyone else to buy it.

This handy steamer is excellent and very efficient and easy to use. I can get into all the awkward corners and it is really good for tiles. However, the window squeegee is a bit disappointing as it leaves streaks no matter what angle I position it. Also, as it is used in the bathroom, the cable is not long enough to reach a convenient socket and I have to use an extension lead. A bit irritating. Having said all that the product is very good, lightweight and convenient.

I bought this steamer approx a year ago for general use. I am sorry to have to say it is useless. I would agree with other responses that it leaks water and does not steam very well. I tried it on shower tiles, made no difference to them at all had to resort to the old method of cleaning. Reason for writing this now is that I have just found it at the back of a cupboard where I put it after two/three uses. Do not waste your money.

Bought this steamer after seeing similar ones on the tv at work; worked wonders on my gas hob and made cleaning easy but will take extra work on baked on oven door having been at it twice already with the brush and about half clean. Handy gadget though and looking forward to trying in the bathroom.

I bought this some time ago, but it was put away at the back of a cupboard due to its poor performance and has just re-surfaced. I like steam cleaning and intend to buy a different model, but this one is just not up to the job! I wish I had read the other reviews before I bought it. Only half of the water is converted into steam, the other half pours out of the hole in the front, which in turn means that the already quite small water tank needs topping up even sooner. It is easy to fill and use, just not very good.
