The stain-resistant, patterned surface traps liquids, so spills can be easily wiped away with soapy water, and the felt backing gives a cushioning effect to protect your tabletop and reduce the risk of glassware breaking. Can be cut to size.

I didn't think I needed one of these, but I got it 'just in case'. Then last night we had a red wine spillage over dinner! Some of the red wine went through the tablecloth, but because of the table protector, none of the red wine went through to the table. It certainly saved our light coloured oak table, and is definitely worth it's price.
