OXO Good Grips® Step & Lock Sweep Set

I've had similar sets with longer handles before but they have been difficult to store, either falling apart or taking up more space than you would think. The way this set clips together is much neater & is really easy to hang from a "square" cup hook. It also looks a whole lot smarter and as I like to keep things I use a lot out and accessible this is a big plus.As far as using the set goes, as a wheelchair user it's got a couple of clear benefits for me. It's the perfect height for me (though maybe a 'standing person' would prefer the handles taller!) and the fact that the pan locks open so easily makes a world of difference as I can manoeuvre about and know it's not going to shut on me (as happened with a previous set I had). You don't *need* to use your foot to hold it open, it clicks into place. It also appears to be much more robust than my previous sets, and feels sturdy to hold without being too light or too heavy - am important thing for those of us with grip problems.The only thing that I'll wait on longer use to judge is how the brush holds up (as they always eventually give up the ghost & leave you with a pan but no brush), but knowing Good Grips quality I am hopeful.

Impressed with the quality of this product & the folding dustpan which makes it easy to store. Looked at others in the shops but they all seemed very flimsy, so glad I went for this one. Haven't been able to use a normal dustpan & brush for a while due to recovering from an operation so it was a joy to be able to sweep up myself instead of waiting for hubby to do it after work!

I am so pleased I made the decision to buy this! I'm 5'6" and find the handles to be a comfortable length. It locks in place without having to put my foot on it and it brushes the dirt into the pan with ease. It even brushes 'bits' off my short pile rug! I keep it to hand in my utility room but it would store in a broom cupboard (or similar) easily. Thanks Lakeland - but if only I'd bought this product years ago :o)

I live in a flat and don't have a lot of storage, so I didn't want a broom, and a dustpan and brush set too. This, for me, combines the two, and takes up very little room. I also didn't want something that meant I have to bend as I have back trouble and this works a treat. Having said that, I'm only 5'1" so I wonder if the handles would be a bit short for someone very tall. The brush is light enough to use with one hand and I think it works well- it's small so it gets right into corners. The set is robust - I tried all in Lakeland before buying and this felt the strongest.

Had to wait longer than anticipated for this to become available, but it is well worth waiting! I cant adequately describe the difference this product has made to my severe back problem. I purchased one for my 86 year old mum as well who finds bending a challenge these days. we are both impressed & have been playing with them since they arrived : Only one observation from me - at 5'10" I could have done with slightly longer handles to feel really comfortable. But compared to traditional dustpan & brush - fantastic!! I would recommend it to people who don't have back problems as this gadget will help to ensure they don't come along in the future.
