Lakeland Rechargeable 2-in-1 Cyclonic Vac

We bought this rechargeable vac to use in our touring caravan. Anyone who does the same will know what kinds of extraneous matter finds its way inside the van, especially straw and grass. This vac copes with anything and keeps its power for a weeks use. (Not every day, we are on holiday after all!!) I also use it at home ,its a dream on stairs.

I bought this as an alternative to getting out the 'big' vacuum. It has been great at picking up the dog hair and for on the stairs - so much more convenient with having two sets of stairs. Unfortunately, the folding handle has been the downfall - my little boy knocked it over, it hit the stairs and the catch that keeps the handle locked broke clean off. The lightweight nature has sacrificed the sturdiness. Shame, but can still use the handheld vacuum.

Contrary to what other customers have said regarding this little vac I found it very disappointing. I thought the hand held vac would be ideal for cleaning out the car but the suction is virtually nil. Suction on the complete vac is also not very good so I have to say I am very disappointed.

I bought this for my Mum (93 years old), particularly as it has no leads or cables to trip up on. She is delighted with this vac. I was concerned about the weight, but she manages very well as there is no real need to carry it any distance, she can just push it along. It is just right for the vacuuming required in her home. The motor is powerful enough to suck up all the small bits and pieces. If safety is a concern for anybody , this cordless vac is the answer. You do need to keep it on charge all the time, but this is not a problem if you can keep the base near an electrical outlet. A first class product.

After agonising for months (given that some of the existing reviews are very negative), I finally took the plunge and ordered one. On opening the parcel, I was very impressed at how solid this vac is - it assembed with satisfyingly robust clicks. Although impatient to try it out, I let it have a full charge and tested it today. My intended use was for an upstairs, mid-week quick improvement vacuum to work alongside my monumentally heavy but very powerful main vacuum. This little sweetie rushed over the upstairs carpets removing all my hair (very long!), threads (from sewing), fluff, grit, dog hair and assorted muck. Sometimes a couple of passes were needed but nothing drastic. So I carried on to do downstairs while it was in my hand! The dried leaves which had blown in to the tiled floor were a bit tricky but not impossible, the wooden block and parquet floors presented no problems. Kitchen lino cleaned up a dream (even right up to the cupboards). The conservatory (main entrance to the house so it gets filthy) has quarry tiles and an industrial mat (loopy nylon) and the Vac quite happily swapped between the surfaces. It took several passes to make it look good, but I wasn't expecting it to be powerful enough to make any difference at all. So, all in all, under 10 minutes to whip round the house, under things, round obstacles, and it all looks lovely. Not that my (male) family will notice - they don't see dirt til they have to climb over it to get to the fridge - but I can see a vast improvement without a corresponding expenditure of time and energy. So glad I decided to try it for myself. Thanks Lakeland!
