Having bought more expensive battery operated lint shavers in the past, I actually find this little comb much more effective. I even used it on a delicate cashmere cardigan which had pilled horribly, and it's got a whole new life. Just hold the fabric flat and slightly stretched on a firm surface, then use a brisk one-way brushing movement - that's what works for me.
Found these did not really remove much, electric bobble buster is much better. Nearly tore one of my tops!

Have bought battery operated de-bobblers in the past but have to say these do the job better, quicker and are much cheaper to buy.
These are very simple to use, they are like mini razors, and they have been fantastic at getting the bobbles off my t-shirts and jumpers, in fact they've been pretty good at everything I've put their way. Keep the fabric flat and ideally slightly taut (be this hanging on a rail or on a table or your knee even) for best results.
