Ecoballs®

Product number: 21756

Looking like a planet, Ecoballs are the new star of the greener laundry scene. We really like the fact they are refillable, with a sponge ring to reduce rattling in your washing machine. You can also choose to wash with one or two Ecoballs at once, depending on the size and soiling of your laundry load.

There's more:

  • this starter pack gives up to 150 washes – that's less than 7p per wash
  • the scientific formula reaches deep into textile fibres, lifting away dirt without fading colours or damaging delicates, and leaving no residue
  • Ecoballs soften clothes even in hard water, so no conditioner is necessary and you can skip the rinse cycle, saving money and water
  • ideal for sensitive skin and baby clothes, they are biodegradable, hypoallergenic and free from toxic chemicals.

"Wish I had bought these long ago!"

star star star star star

I have been using both balls in my washes for a couple of weeks, and my laundry is clean and no longer stiff with unrinsed detergent. It is easier to dry and iron as a result. I do use a stain remover if I have an obvious stain eg blood. I am not bombarded by artificial smells just clean, soft laundry. The washing machine is cleaner, first couple of uses I had to wipe away old detergent residue, now it doesn't smell either. Great!

"Brilliant - Ecohballs"

star star star star star

I would just like to say that contrary to some of the reviews I have read about these items I have found them brilliant. Admittedly, we don't have children at home, but our clothes do get dirty the same as anyone else and we have so far had no cause to complain. In fact, i would recommend them to anyone else. If the stain remover provided does not work, then do as I do, and spray the stain with different stain remover before placing in the machine. My husband's white shirts come out perfectly everytime.

"Passed the challenge of boys' dirty kit"

star star star star star

Committed as I am to doing our bit for the environment, I was still sceptical about the claims of these products, but after using them for about a month, I have happily been thoroughly convinced by the results. I have three small boys and regularly need to wash muddy play clothes, dirty white school shirts (that look as if they have been trodden around the changing room floor), football kit clogged with mud and more. I have been amazed at the results. School shirts come out white after one wash (without any stain remover), a filthy white rugby shirt came out as good as with Fairy non-bio (I didn't use the stain remover as I couldn't face spreading it over the entire shirt). My machine doesn't allow me to turn off the rinse, but I no longer need to put in extra rinses to make sure I rinse out every last bit of detergent for sensitive skins. I have also used ecoballs for machine washable handwash programme jumpers and other similar delicate items. Previously I would always use a delicate liquid and fabric conditioner but have found the eco balls just as effective, keeping the clothes feeling soft. I like the fact there are no artificial perfumes (which make me sneeze) and you don't have to use fabric conditioner so you are saving the environment and your pocket. I definitely give them a big thumbs up.

"Great balls"

Years ago I bought a Wash It Laundry Ball and was really disappointed with the results so I put off buying the Ecoballs for a long time. But after 25 years living with a septic tank, agonising over what products to use for the laundry and getting various advice (current thinking seems to be washing liquid for colours because it contains no bleach or biological agents which eat the friendly bacteria that make the tank work), I decided to try these. I am delighted that I did. They wash perfectly, laundry is soft and I can cut out all the rinse cycles that add to the load in the septic tank. But the real bonus to me is that I am not putting any chemicals into the tank or the environment. I've also always thought it mad that it is necessary to use a softener to counteract the effects of detergent, which, if drying in the sun, seems to have no effect anyway. As for missing the smell of softener, what's wrong with the natural smell of clean clothes dried on the line? I do have very dirty washing to do as my husband cycles 10 miles to work and 10 miles back every day and our lanes here are very dirty for most of the year but the balls cope with his kit brilliantly. Thanks for leading me to a wonderful product.

"Ecoballs"

My Ecoballs were a present and I didn't use them for ages, but when I did, I wished I'd tried them earlier! They're brilliant! Use them as recommended, apply the Eco Stain to marks/stains, etc. and don't over load your washer! I use them in conjunction with a Magnoball and set my washer to 'eco'. So much easier (and cheaper) than faffing with detergents, water & fabric softeners in my hard water area!
