Now that supermarkets charge for carriers, these are brilliant especially when just going in for a few things. The beauty of them is that they are small enough to fit in your pocket when empty. Always useful to have one in the glove compartment of the car.
bought one of these bags and absolutely love it, you would not believe how much you can get in one! everytime i'm at the checkout everyone says they been looking for old fashioned string bag like their nans/mum used to have! brilliant and so strong!
I was given a couple of these some years back and they are extremely strong and hard wearing and they seem to be endlessly expandable. You will be amazed at what you can fit in them! Incredibly, nothing falls through the gaps in the string. They also wash very well and come up looking like new. Very lightweight, and the handle is comfortable to hold. These will outlast most other shopping bags which means that they are kind to both the environment and your purse
I still have two string bags from years ago. One I have on a hook in the airing cupboard - all the socks go in when washed and then everyone finds their own. The second is hung on a coat hook in the hall for all the gloves and hats. I shall now be ordering some more!
I brought this bag from Lakeland about 10 years ago and it is still going strong. I have used it constantly over this time to carry my bulky items such as mulitpacks of crisps kitchen rolls and other grocerys, as well as using it on trips out to carry the familys coats when now wearing them(at one time I had six medium weight jackets in this Tardis of a bag). It is washable and if you manage to rip a hole in the string, as I have just recently done, the hole does not run or get any bigger and is easily mended if you wanted to,(I just knotted the two strings back together). Now it is back in the Lakeland book I will be ordering one for family.
