These are cheaper than many others I've found as the pack contains 5 filters. However, the filters are thin and my original Lakeland compost filter (came with metal "waste bin" style) was about 8mm thick and much more effective. These tend to drop out of the lid. So I use them doubled up and they stay in place better. Nobody seems to sell the thicker kind any longer.
I bought this compost bin to replace a plastic version which was unattractive and smelly. The bin is sturdy and a good size, so you're not nipping out to the garden compost everyday. It looks good and I don't get any smells in my kitchen. A good choice.
A delightful addition to the kitchen! We try to recycle everything we can, and this makes it easy to keep compost materials out of sight - and no smell!! I have had lots of "what a good idea"! remarks about my apple, and I love it.
