I have had my racks and find them wonderful for my front porch, they have retained their shiny new feel for years. You can get round the 'shoe slipping off' problem by turning the racks 180degrees so the slope is facing towards a wall - if the shoes do slip the toes then bump the wall but stay in position. Once I'd worked this out I then thought 'maybe this is how they are supposed to be placed'?
The expanding facility is useful but the slope of the rack is such that, unless your shoes have a definite heel, they tend to slip off. I've ended up having to prop up the lower side with blocks as most of my shoes are flat. Because of this fault I wouldn't get this style of rack again.

I think this is really only suitable for shoes with a definite heel as flat shoes invariably slide off. It would be improved by having rubber grips on the bars.I'm still looking for a tidy way to store our shoes.

Expanding feature is good and proved very useful in our cloakroom. However, end-bar soldering gave way after only 6 months which is pretty poor for something over £20.

I have just purchased a second shoe rack to stack on top of the first that i bought some time ago to accommodate my husband's ever growing collection of shoes. The rack seemed unsteady at first until I tightened the screws properly then I added the Stay- Put Shoe Rack Tape. What a difference! The shoes haven't budged. I keep having to admire (sad isn't it) these beautifully straight, paired lines of shoes. Thank you Lakeland for another brilliant discovery.
