Smart Touch Automatic Can Opener

I am just about to purchase a second can opener to use in the caravan. I was amazed to see so many bad reviews. I have had my original one for over 5 years with no problems apart from the batteries need replacing. There is a knack to getting it to ‘latch on’ And very occasionally there are cans that do not want to be opened. Dented cans will not open either. Having said that those cans are VERY difficult to open with any device. I think this is a great can opener.

I have bought this type of can opener before, from another shop, as I find it far easier than a manual one as my hands are a lot weaker than they used to be. I had no problems using this one at all - it is quite easy. I think the added safety feature of having an on/off switch is extremely good.

This was the third can opener I tried. Others I bought did not open the more flat tuna and salmon tins, or even baked beans with no ring tab. However, I am pleased to say that this opens all sorts of cans and very efficiently, safely and clean. My daughter has one, as has my brother and families in NZ. To be fair I think you must read instructions carefully and indeed place opener correctly on tin. If you have trouble with one end of can just upend and use other end. Never fails. This is an amazing opener and excellent for anyone with hand or finger problems.

I purchased this originally 2+ years ago and when it stopped working last summer I returned it to the Cambridge store & they exchanged it without hesitation. Lakeland online customer service stepped in when the replacement failed after only 8 months of minimal usage. I have to commend Lakeland on their prompt and thoughtful customer contact and subsequent service for a product that (although bought from them) was not their own brand product. I will give the replacement to someone else to road test but I remain a Lakeland fan. Thanks!

So easy to use helps so much when arthritis is bad.Helps open ring pull cans as well.Highly recommend.
