I use this as a compost bin [no lid so it doesn't become steamy] It is far easier to rinse out and dry than the usual type of bin and MUCH easier to empty one-handed. In months of use it has not stained or become scratched. We eat loads of veggies and it can look quite lovely with its leafy strata seen side on laid with carrot tops between! Teabags are seldom put in - it may look less lovely with teabags galore.
