Lakeland Switch 12 Cup Filter Coffee Machine

I am very impressed with this coffee maker. The first thing I noticed was the design of the carafe - it allows you to pour water into the reservoir without dripping water everywhere - unlike so many other machines. The coffee is very well brewed and the temperature is very good - also unlike so many others. The hotplate is at such a temperature that it keeps the coffee warm without making it taste horrible. And the single cup addition is the best invention ever!!! HOT coffee for one - excellent. Love the option for a stronger brew. Very good machine.

With the market being saturated with pod machines, it's getting harder to find a filter coffee machine that allows you to make coffee to your own taste. Thank you, Lakeland, for such a great, attractive and easy to use machine. Easy to fill and drip free. The cup option is a bonus and the height of the cup stand can be adjusted for standard cups/mugs. A very well thought out product that we would recommend - can't fault it.

My husband is the coffee drinker in our house, so the single cup function gets used the most. He sets the timer and grabs the travel mug on his way out to work, at weekends (or when we have friends over) we use the jug and its keep warm function. It is really simple to use and easy to clean. I think if two people wanted coffee in a morning then the travel mug side wouldn't be much use and sometimes I'd like to have a second mug with the special drain lid but it works with any travel mug or china mug without a lid. We wouldn't be without it now -great product!

This machine makes coffee at a good temperature and I love the single cup option. One negative: the base of the permanent filter is solid ie mesh only on the sides. (You can see this very briefly in the product video.) This means the coffee grounds retain a lot of water - approx half a cup. So if you want 6 cups of coffee, fill the tank to 6 1/2 cups. The retention of water also makes cleaning the filter messy. Drier grounds are easily tapped out into the compost bin. The single cup filter design should have been copied for the main filter - it's much more efficient!

coffee machine is good except for the fact it turns off after 40 mins. Too short a time in our opinion.
