Devilishly Delicious Chocolate Orange Cake Mix

I. too, have been baking cakes for years, so was rather sceptical when I first purchased both the Lemon and Chocolate Orange Mixes.....how wrong I was to doubt the advertisment! They are just so scrumptious and I just hope and pray that no-one asks me for the recipes, having taken all the credit! They truly are that good! I have made the Strawberry one as well, which is delicious, and have yet to bake the Ginger one. I have every faith they will ALL live up to my expectations, Great products and I am ordering more after writing this review - please keep stocking them, Lakeland.

Initially, I was skeptical of the ready mix and only purchased one but I was wrong. The chocolate and orange cake mix was absolutely fantastic! I baked a small (5") double layered cake topped with chocolate glaze, candied orange and a large chocolate rose for my husband's birthday. It looked absolutely stunning and tasted even better. Going to try other flavours, strawberry and cream sounds particularly tempting. One tip when checking if cake is done- it includes orange fruit chips so when toothpick is inserted it may look uncooked but it's only the fruit chips melting. Thank you Lakeland :)

I do make my own cakes and have been known to produce over 250 portions of various home-made cakes from scratch for NGS open afternoons, BUT this is really quick, economical and good value. With this flavour version I had no problem with rising when I baked in a Lakeland loaf cake mould.
