Half an avocado is a real treat, but saving the second half is always a problem. Well now, thanks to these silicone ‘lids’ from Food Huggers, saving the other half of your avocado for later is quick and easy.
With one large and one small cover in the pack, simply stretch the silicone over the half of your avocado with the stone left in. The lid will ‘hug’ your avocado, sealing the flesh and helping keep it fresher for longer so you can enjoy it another time.

Was a bit sceptical about the efficacy of this product but it works a treat! I was fed up with having to waste half an avocado every time I bought one, but not anymore. Have tried multiple different sizes of fruit and had no problems at all. Keeps it lovely and fresh so I can eat it the following day. Definitely recommended! :)
These are cute as well as being extremely effective.
Whoever invented these food huggers deserves an avocado-shaped medal. They're the ideal invention to keep your lonely avocado halves company until you're ready to use them. I love the shape of them too; even though I've got the OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Tool (also from Lakeland), I almost want to keep the stone in my avocados just so I can use the avocado food huggers! (Though they still work without the stone, of course.) The two huggers are just the right size for small and large avocados. We all know how easily avocados spoil and how expensive they are; these huggers prolong their life.
I often enjoy half an avocado as part of my lunch, but all too often the other half would either be thrown out or squished into a food bag in the corner of a fridge and forgotten about. With the avocado hugger, I can safely stow away the second half of my avocado until the next day, and then retrieve it undamaged. I have to admit that I was a little sceptical about how this product would cope with different sizes of avocado, but so far this hasn't been a problem.
Great idea - no longer need to share an avocado and no wastage either.
