My treasured Sheffield knives have extra long blades so an ordinary knife block left 2" of blade showing - not very safe! Not a problem with this knife block as any make and type of knife are safely stored. I bought it to put inside a drawer but it's such a lovely piece that it's definitely going on show on the worktop. Would always recommend this!
I had been looking for a means of storing all my knives safely in the kitchen drawer and this fits the bill perfectly. At first I thought it was a bit expensive and looked at some cheaper options, but none of them could compare. Finally I can reach into the drawer to select a knife without running the risk of slicing into my fingers! Aside from being totally functional, it's also beautiful. Even my husband is impressed.

Recently I bought a Robert Welch Bamboo Knife Store. It accommodated almost all of our knives without eating up too much work-top real estate. The best thing about it is that it both safer and easier to use than the type where you have to jab the knife into a bunch of jaggy bristles that eventually bond together and become very hard to use. How I wish I had spotted this sooner!
I wanted nothing on display and this knife block fits inside the smallest drawer in the kitchen. The knives are easy to see and kept very safely. It also holds a lot!
