These are pretty, and suit my oak-and-white kitchen a treat, but they're a little heavy and unwieldy. They're useful for storing biscuits, cake and anything that doesn't need refrigeration, and are easy enough to clean, but are a bit cumbersome to handle and lift. I always feel as though I'm going to drop them - not good for an item that's ceramic! I can understand why they're being phased out. If you don't need loads of extra storage, I'd suggest going for the smaller canister instead.
