Egg Skelter

Received as a gift and is brilliant for storing my hens' eggs -and ensures always in date order.

This egg storer is excellent. Eggs can be used in rotation. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT.

I had read the reviews for this and didn't know if I should get it or not. I had my eggs in a basket on the kitchen work top and could not put the new ones in there until the older ones were used, so I always had an ugly box of eggs sat next to the basket,I did buy it and it's great,I had large eggs when it came ,but put them on it anyway, I have to push the eggs down but they move fine, no broken eggs and all being used in the right date order, Great

I *really* wanted this to work. It keeps eggs in order, is space efficient and just seems cool. In practice it's a failure. I got the egg size it recommends (it admits admits it can't manage all sizes) but whatever I tried, when you remove an egg or two an egg further up will turn sideways, doesn't roll and blocks movement. You have to *keep* fiddling to get the eggs to roll. One time I got them lined up but the blocking one was high up so it rolled down so far and fast it cracked the egg at the bottom. I've stopped using it. Even in the picture one egg is the wrong way!

I bought this as a gift as it reminded me of the Chitty Chitty Bang bang egg machine but unfortunately that it all it is useful for. Only the correct egg size can be used and even then, it is only possible to load, either at the top or 4 eggs at the bottom as in the picture. Just as in the film, this is more bother than it is worth, really disapointed.
