Chef'n Pull'n Slice Mandoline

Product number: 19283

We know that, up until now, mandolines have been a ‘love them or hate them’ product, but this Chef'n Pull’n Slice Mandoline has been designed to be as safe as possible, helping you speed up prep. Samm, our Merchandising Manager and long-term mandoline-avoider was so reassured by its safety features – your fingers are never near the blade in use – that she said it was the first mandoline she had ever been confident to use.

Designed for Safety

Chef’n have completely reimagined the mandoline with safety in mind and, whether you slice, shred, julienne or dice, it’s incredibly easy to use. As soon as you try it, you’ll see why even the most reluctant of us have been converted to mandoline fans.

While one hand is on the safety guard, the other is holding the handle of the base board, absolutely nowhere near the blade! And this is where Chef’n’s mandoline is unique; instead of moving the safety guard back and forth over an exposed blade, you pull and push the base board instead. So simple, and so safe. Precise, uniformly sliced food drops onto the surface below, and with 7 different options, it’ll speed up all those tasks that can take an age when you’ve got a lot to prepare.

7 Different Slice Settings

There’s a dial on the side that lets you select from four thicknesses, and as well as a permanently fixed, super-sharp stainless steel blade that can slice even soft items like tomatoes, there’s a julienne and a French fry blade.

Non-slip feet hold it securely in place and a large safety guard protects fingers as it securely holds food – its silicone collar squashes down so you can slice every last bit of the your fruit or veg and, unlike with most mandolines, you don’t need to apply pressure to the safety guard – in fact, the less pressure applied, the better it slices!

Safe-Store Position

After use, there’s a ‘safe store’ position, on-board storage for the second blade, and a storage case for the third. Its performance is very impressive, the results are great and, thanks to all the thoughtful safety features, we’d go so far as to say this one-of-a-kind mandoline is the very best we’ve ever sold.

"Makes Quick Work Of It"

star star star star star

Bought this product mainly for making red onion marmalade as cutting 2kg of onions by hand just wasn't much fun! This mandoline made easy work of it and is fairly easy to clean looking forward to using it for beet root chips in the future once my beets grow big enough!

"Brilliant Gadget"

I have tried numerous mandolin's in the past and always been dissapointed however, I was pleasantly surprised, this slices food easily and safely. It makes chopping onions a doddle, I prepare a big batch and freeze them. It is easy to clean too. All in all a great product I would definitely recommend.

"Great"

If I had read the reviews before I bought this mandolin I wouldn't have bought it. However, having bought it and used it, it works perfectly. All the problems I had at first were my "user errors." Particularly the strength needed to push down on it. I found that using the palm of may hand and gripping the edge of the mandolin (your fingers are nowhere near the blade) kept the base steady and no strength needed. Also after a couple of uses the silicone collar softened and became easy to use. I have only sliced with it so far but am very pleased with the results.

"not quite refined enough"

star star star star_border star_border

Although this mandolin has proved useful for dicing onions - a job I hate - it is quite cumbersome and tricky to use. The size of veg you end up with depends more on how hard you press down than on the width adjuster and this together with the setting up means it is quite time consuming to use. Because in the end it is no quicker than a knife for everyday use, I suspect that it will be relegated to the cupboard with all my other 'time saving' purchases.

support_agent A note from the team

We're sorry to hear you've been a little disappointed with this product. One of the benefits of this great mandolin is you don’t need to apply pressure to the safety guard – in fact, the less pressure applied, the better it slices! We'll be in touch to help.

"Persevere!"

This item is strong, non-slip, and safe. I found it somewhat difficult to assemble, and think the instructions could be clearer, ( e,g. that the blades slide into the attachment on top of the slicing deck). Once this was done, I had some difficulty with applying the right amount of pressure to the safety guard, and also found the thickness adjuster fiddly. However, after a bit of practice, it became much easier. My first French Fry batch was lovely! I will definitely use this frequently, and advise buyers to read the instructions thoroughly, persevere, and I think they will be pleased.
