The original FizzKeeper had a small pump to add air to the bottle and retain the pressure which kept the remaining liquid from losing it's fizz. This just acts as a bottle stopper and pourer.
Sadly I have just purchased 2 of these as hubby and I love our fizzy drinks/ water. I opened a bottle of cola and quite easily attached it. The first few times I poured it seemed that the bottle held its fizz but no more than you would get if you were just using the cap. Over the next 2 days I poured cola and the fizz kept decreasing until it got to just below the bottom quarter. It is at this point that I usually find that the bottle is flattish. It was the same with this. Fizzy water fared no better with the one hubby used. Verdict-save your money and just tighten the bottle top well.
