Smoothie On The Move

my daughter bought me this for Christmas, and its brilliant, cant wait to get back to work and make my morning smoothie to have on the way in, all part of my New Year resolution..

Just purchased this, brilliant, makes just the right amount, no waste, easy to use and clean, couple of negatives, no on/off button on front and releasing the cup from the blade worrying has released cup, not blade small spillage!

Making my first smoothie did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. First, the blades will not cope with "hard foods", which means that ice cubes and frozen fruit are out – though it’s easy to work around this restriction. More important are the crucial directional instructions OFF and ON, which are embossed in black on a black background. Missing these almost-invisible markings can lead to leakage and/or failure to start when the blades are wrongly seated on the base. The Smoothie Maker is a victim of its own sleek black design, but now I’ve got the hang of it, my smoothies are delicious!

I bought this so that I could make a healthy smoothie to take with me to the gym. I love smoothies and like the healthy versions and this works perfectly. It doesn't cope with ice cubes but I use crushed ice and it copes perfectly. It was difficult at first getting the hang of releasing the cup and blade from the base but after a while it gets easier. I use mine regularly.

I loved the idea of this and it's so easy to use, it's perfect for making a smoothie in the morning to drink on the way to work. Unfortunately I only used mine 3 times before the seal in the lid with the blades came away and could not be fitted back in. I returned it and got a replacement which lasted about 12 uses before the same thing happened. If you fit the bladed lid and turn it upside down to fit to the base unit, the liquid inside the cup comes pouring out. I'm just really disappointed I'll have to return this one too.
