"Blowtorch dangerous fault"
The torch, having being used several times without problems, was refilled after a lapse of a year or so. There was a hissing noise even with the control knob turned firmly off. Foolishly I ignited the torch, which at first had a normal flame. Suddenly my hand was enveloped in a ball of yellow flame. I threw the torch into a sink of water which extinguished it. I turned the knob off under water but could see gas bubbles emerging rapidly around the knob spindle. I took the torch outside and opened the valve to allow the gas to escape and disperse. The back of my hand was singed. Beware.
