These delicate-looking but top-quality mesh umbrellas pop up to cover large serving dishes, tasty salads, puddings, trifles and tall cakes while keeping midges, flies and even passing leaves out of your creations until you’re ready to do the big reveal and let everyone dive in. Once everyone has helped themselves, just pop the covers back over your dishes to make sure that seconds are safe too.
They fold down like standard umbrellas for storage and will hung up in a corner till they’re needed again. Wipe-clean polyester.

Looks good sitting on the table or worksurface as well as keeping flies off food. There is a skirt around the bottom edges so this does prevent the flies getting between surface and bottom of umbrella which unfortunately has happened using a cover without a skirt. Would recommend
This food umbrella is a replacement for an old one Ive had for over 40 years. Lovely to have a bright design and does an excellent job keeping flies off food.
This is a very good size. However, the lace that is around the bottom does not touch the table so the insects can get underneath.

I inherited my mother's food umbrella but have mislaid it so decided to buy another. Bad decision, despite it being very expensive, £5.95. Opened it when I got home, couldn't put it down again. My daughter had a go and told me to "Hold it here, align that there, then it should close." The mechanism is pound shop not Lakeland. Amazing that the skills that people had to make food umbrellas in the 1960s that lasted for going on 50 years seem to have been lost. I'm picking up a Lakeland order tomorrow and hopefully will be able to return it for a refund. If I could I'd give it no stars I would.

I purchased this in January this year (and unfortunately purchased two) !!! I had previously owned one which after quite a time fell apart but this one lasted three months. I have not tried the other one yet so will see how long it lasts ..... longer than three months hopefully !!!
