"Brilliant little book!"

star star star star star

This review is for an older version of this product

This is a lovely little book, very motivating for a beginner to chocolate making. It's spiral bound, with cardboard pages that sit flat on the worktop and could be sponged if necessary. The clear instructions and recipes, and the full-colour illustrations, made me just want to have a go. But beware - it should come with a health warning- I've just gone on to the Lakeland site and ordered a lot of chocolate-making equipment I didn't know I needed before I read this book!

"Great little book"

I love making chocolates, but have never considered mine to be that good, but this little book is excellent. I love the firm cover and pages. Clear detailed instructions. Lots of useful hints and tips. Can't wait to get started on making 'proper' chocolates to wow the family.

"Great book but one query"

star star star star star

This is a lovely book, full of lots of great tips and recipes. I do, however, have one query: paragraph 3 on page 9 says that chocolate should be allowed to melt slowly in a bowl over a pan of hot water for 3 to 4 HOURS. Surely this is wrong? In my experience, it only takes minutes to melt chocolate to the right consistency. Is this a typo or am I missing something? Could someone please confirm?

support_agent A note from the team

Thank you for placing your review. We're pleased you're happy with the book. There is no typo when it comes to the length of time to melt the chocolate. It is recommended and if you have the time to melt for this length of time to achieve a richer and shinier finish to your home made creations

"this book makes it so easy!"

star star star star star

this book is quite simply incredible! The instructions are so easy to follow that having never tempered chocolate I bought this book a short while ago and I've just given 10 boxes with 5 flavours of handmade chocolates for Christmas gifts and everyone thinks I bought them! Paul A Young gives clear, concise, easy to follow instructions for several fillings while encouraging you to try your own flavours, I've already done this and it worked really well. I'm a new fan and this book is my new bible!

"Recommend for beginners"
