Stainless Steel Maslin Jam Pan and Handle 4.5L

Product number: 18725

A smaller version of our existing Maslin pan, this 4.5 Litre Maslin Jam Making Pan has all the same benefits of its bigger brother but in a more compact package. Made from the same top quality stainless steel, and graduated up to 4.5 litres, the pan is suitable for all hob types, including induction.

Incredibly robust, the thick, encapsulated base means you can keep a rolling boil for a long time without the contents sticking, so there’ll be nothing burnt and nothing tricky to tackle when it comes to cleaning. The large, open top means that jam, marmalade or chutney has a big surface area so liquid can evaporate quickly, speeding up the whole process and the inside of the pan is graduated to make life easier when measuring out.

Fantastically designed for the job at hand, a pouring spout and silicone-covered handle make for easy transfer and comfortable lifting. It’s the only jam pan you’ll ever need to buy and is great for soup and stock too.

Features:

  • Encapsulated base prevents sticking
  • Strong stainless steel body
  • Graduated up to 4.5 litres
  • Pouring spout
  • Suitable for all hobs (incl. induction)

Oven safe up to 260°C.

"Good for beginners"

star star star star star_border

I’m making Xmas hampers for family and wanted to make a selection of jams and chutneys. As a beginner this pan has been very useful. It’s not too big, but enough to fit the ingredients for my desired recipes (which has been about 4 x 500g jars worth per recipe with additional room for more if needed). The only downside for me is the fact that it spits - when bringing jam to a rolling boil whilst waiting for the setting temp to reach 105*C, the jam had a tendency to spit out boiling hot jam. The pan is easy to clean and store.

"Light but Sturdy"

Well constructed pan easy to use and suitable for many heat sources

"Excellent small jam pan"

Ideal for 1kg or less of fruit. More would be a push during rapid boil. Even heat distribution on an AGA cooker, easy and stable to handle on and off the heat. The pan would be perfect if the pouring lip was slightly more pronounce to direct hot liquid for jar filling.

"Brilliant"

My daughter in law loved it just what she wanted

"Produced excellent jam"

Bought this last week to replace my very old and large preserving pan, which would not work on our new induction hob. My husband (and chief preserves cook!) used it for the first time yesterday to make jam with the last of our gooseberries. He pronounced it an excellent performer - easy to lift and pour and no sticking or burning. Might have to consider the larger version before making Seville orange marmelade next year!
