One way to make sure you know exactly what’s in your burgers, Bolognese and pies is to make your own but, to be doubly sure your ingredients are just what they claim to be, why not mince your own meat?
Based on a traditional design, this retro, cast iron mincer from KitchenCraft not only works like a dream but also looks so great whilst doing it. With three different-sized mincing discs, it screw-clamps securely to your worktop to keep it firmly in place as you turn the wooden handle to produce delicious mince, ready to be transformed into all manner of dishes. It also includes a sausage-making attachment, for homemade bangers.
Not only does mincing your own meat give you ultimate control over the texture and coarseness of your mince, but it also lets you experiment with combinations of different cuts and additional ingredients to get that perfect, juicy burger or rich sausage. You can even mince your meat with your desired herbs or spices to ensure even distribution throughout your mix.

As a mincer this is pretty useless. It's OK for stuffing sausages but still a lot of work. I can't recommend it

Mince the meat, to make a treat, homemade burgers, for you to eat. The mincer is fine. It struggled a bit with gristley bits but then, we all do don't we?
This product is appallingly shoddy. very poorly made of the lowest grade metal. The handle doesn't fit in spite of a crude effort by the manufacturer so half-hearted they didn't even check if it worked. When I was looking online for a cast iron mincer I found some for just over £5 and I'd be surprised if this product was in any way superior. I associate Lakeland with good quality products and I'm very surprised and disappointed that they're selling anything so poor and so over-priced.

Sturdy, strong and useful. We are looking forward to varying the uses of our left overs. Also reminds me of my Mum, which is also good.
Disappointingly rough hewn in appearance and handling - but it works OK.
