Silicone Mini Chocolate Spoons Mould

Product number: 18440

Add an extra twist to your desserts, espressos or ice creams by serving them with a dinky chocolate spoon. Making it quick and easy to make your own, this Silicone Mini Chocolate Spoon Mould is incredibly non-stick and flexible to allow for easy release.

Microwave, freezer and oven safe, this mould is super versatile and can go straight in the dishwasher when you’ve finished for easy cleaning.

Tempering Chocolate

To ensure your chocolatey spoons have that professional-looking sheen, tempering your chocolate is essential. This stops the cocoa fat from separating, preventing that dull grey finish and meaning the chocolate shrinks slightly when set for an easy release from the mould.

"Great results... trouble keeping them from children!"

star star star star star

After reading the reviews, I chilled the mould in the fridge and lightly coated it with cake release. I then chilled in the fridge overnight. To release the set spoons, I eased the moulds away from them before turning over and pushing them out. Made 2 batches with Belgian chocolate: white and milk with no problem. I tried using cheap supermarket basic chocolate but it refused to melt smoothly in my bain marie so going to stick to the more expensive stuff as these are for xmas pressies if I can keep little fingers away from them long enough. Great mould!!

"Fantastic!"

I love using this mould, it gives my cupcakes a nice finish! I was a bit sceptical after reading the reviews about how difficult it was to get the spoons out without breaking, however, I left the moulds to set in a cool place overnight, not in the fridge or freezer, and after careful teasing of the silicone, I've been getting perfect results, no breakages.

"Great finishing touch"

I was a bit sceptical about trying these based on the previous reviews but thought I would give them a go. Glad I did, pleased with the results. Maybe I was lucky but I got five out of the six out in one piece. I used white chocolate and levelled off the mould quite carefully then put into the fridge to set. I think the trick may be to turn them out when they are not 100% set as the chocolate still has a bit of flex in it then. Also, turn out from the handle end and work towards the bowl end seems to work best. They are a bit fiddley but look nice and are a bit different.

"Indulgence"

There is a knack to getting the set spoons out of the mould but once mastered very easy. Any breaks got happily eaten by the family or remelted.
