OXO Good Grips® Batter Dispenser

After reading the other reviews I was sceptical about buying this product, but decided to try it out as I think the concept is brilliant. I made Yorkshire pudding batter as usual then poured it into the batter dispenser and I was able to swirl it into muffin tins and make beautiful puds that were the same size and had lovely risen edges. I made sure the lid was screwed on properly (which was slightly tricky to start with) and there were no leaks at all, so I was very happy with this dispenser and look forward to using it again!

I bought this thinking that it would make Sunday morning pancakes much easier. I must be doing something very wrong as I used it for the first time today but ended up with lumpy batter that kept blocking the nozzle. The idea is great but the reality is not so good! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not ideal if using to dispense batter with thick consistency as for fluffy pancakes. I found that I had to squeeze the bottle really hard just to get some out at all and as it does not have an airtight seal, pressure is released from the lid which makes it even more difficult to get the mixture to dispense. I resorted to extending the slits where the batter comes through just to help them open with slight ease and actually dispense. I imagine it would work a treat for runnier mixtures but that is yet to be tested.

I'll be sending this back straight away. Not easily handled, unless you have hands on a 'larger-than-normal' scale. 'Good Grips' has no relevance to this product at all, it has a screw-top lid, which is far too smooth and thus you cannot get a grip on it. Product seems much larger than it appears in the photo. it says it mixes, but it has no internal mixing mechanism, such a s a simple plastic ball to help mix the batter. it's just too cumbersome in every respect.

Sadly this is a very diappointing product. The lids are very hard to remove and replace. Once filled with batter you can't shake it as the lids are not watertight so a little batter starts to dribble out and then get shaken up the walls! Even adding the flour gradually and then using the most vigorous shaking didn't remove the lumps. And then the dispenser nozzle is very spluttery and variable - we thought this was because a lump of flour was clogging it, but even filling with water and testing that it was still spraying out oddly. Such a great idea as a product, but just doesn't work.
