For centuries, North African cuisine has relied on this unusual-looking tagine cooking pot whose cone-shaped lid ensures steam cools and drips back down into the food. The result is succulent, tender food full of flavour.

Our Large Traditional Tagine means you can cook delicious, slow cooked, family-sized meals or batch cook for freezing to enjoy later. For versatility, the pot can either be used in the oven or on the hob with a heat diffuser.

With its stylish striped appearance, and made from glazed terracotta, the tagine is great for sitting in the centre of the dining table and letting guests tuck in. Plus, you get the added moment of revealing the contents when you remove the lid, letting all the aromas escape and fill the room. With a couple of recipes to get you started, this tagine is an ideal present for someone taking their first steps into the world of North African cuisine.

"Love it!"

We love our tagine and use it all the time! It's so convenient and always a delicious meal! We're just moving house though and are getting a dishwasher... wondering if we'll be able to put the tagine in the dishwasher? If it makes any difference, the lowest heat setting on our dishwasher is 35ºC. We'd love your feedback if you can help?

"Love it but........"

I was given this tagine as a Christmas present from the kids . I have used it 3 times and it does cook the food very well . However I used it last night on the hob on a very low heat with a diffuser and it cracked inside and out so I would think it is now unuseable . Advised by customer services to take the Tagine back , which I did and was offered a replacement or refund . I took the replacement and made a gorgeous Lamb Kopta the same night . Top marks to Lakeland customer services and the nice lady at the Metro Centre store .

We bought the large Tigine so we can cook a. Large amount and then freeze we what is not used. It worked out very well. It was moist and tasty. Would recommend this type of Tagine.

By brother sent this tagine to my husband for his birthday. We both love it and the results it produces. We have used it about five times, each dish better than the last. Just one concern, the base has crazed quite badly inside and out, is this ok? can we still use it?

"Lifting the lid"

I have wanted one of these for years, finally given one for my birthday! I love it and trying new recipes. Just one problem, when cooking and checking the meal, I do struggle to get the lid off. The lid gets hot, obviously, and it is so beautifully made, even with oven gloves that have grippers on them, it is VERY hard and awkward to get the top off. Any suggestions? Only 4 stars instead of 5 for this reason! Perhaps you could design a "grabber" of sorts to latch around the top.
